When is it rape?

Some days you wake up and find that the world seems to have tipped. All of a sudden you are confronted with the news that the “rules” have changed. And what previously you had understood, is now different. Much in the way that France has changed it’s definition of sexual harassment so that it won’t be confused with “flirting”, now we are being invited to revise our understanding of what constitutes rape. By none other than George Galloway. WTF?

George Galloway: Assange only accused of “bad sexual etiquette”, it’s not rape “if you’re already in the sex game” http://www.newstatesman.com/blogs/politics/2012/08/george-galloway-assange-only-accused-bad-sexual-etiquette

My favourite tweet today: The “invite them over the threshold once, they can come in again any time” thing? That’s how vampires work. Not sexual consent. VAMPIRES. (@flashboy)

Thankfully I don’t have to find coherence in my rage, someone at The Vagenda has done that for me. http://vagendamag.blogspot.co.uk/#!/2012/08/competitive-rape-defining.html Which is obviously a relief because I’d hate anyone to think that I was ranting hysterically.

Some days you just want to go back to bed and pull the covers over your head.
