Vincent Dance Theatre is offering a unique and exciting range of participatory events and professional development projects to accompany Motherland. These will include practical workshops, mistress classes, critical debates, installations and exhibitions programmed in venues along the tour.
Vincent Dance Theatre has been delivering high quality community engagement and professional development projects across the UK and abroad for over 23 years. This year the company is working in collaboration with pioneering participatory arts organisation Encounters to devise a bespoke programme of participatory events to accompany our tour of Motherland.
Vincent Dance Theatre’s Participation Programme is facilitated by Artistic Director Charlotte Vincent, Composer/ Musician Alex Catona, VDT’s core Polish performers Aurora Lubos, Janusz Orlik and Patrycja Kujawska and members of Motherland’s exceptional cast Greig Cooke (Charles Linehan), Rob Clarke (Felix Ruckert, Troika Ranch), Scott Smith (Lisa Nelson, Steve Paxton) and Andrea Catania (Sasha Waltz).
Vincent Dance Theatre is committed to working closely with venues and local partners in the community to design and deliver an individually tailored participatory programme to reach, include and hear the voices of diverse participants of all ages and backgrounds and to generate new audiences for dance. The Participation Programme can be tailored to a particular context and the specific needs of each venue, to expand and stimulate existing groups or seek out those individuals and groups which are hard to reach.
